The state of Kentucky licenses HVAC contractors. An HVAC Master Contractor must also pass the business and law exam. All state HVAC Contractors must have general liability insurance levels of at least $500,000. In order to get a license, an applicant must to go through the process of completing relevant education, apprenticeship and pass a licensure examination.
